What precautions will be put in place to protect the landscaping around the community? Will your firm replace any plants that are compromised and/or destroyed? View Answer Hide Answer

Each Mallard crew consists of two team members. One team member will water extensively before, during, and after the cleaning and sanitizing takes place. We will also tarp any plants in the drip line of an un-guttered section. All downspouts will be bagged to collect the cleaning solution during cleaning and sanitizing. There is the potential for plants to get stressed during the cleaning and sanitizing process. If there are any plants killed during the cleaning process, Mallard will pay to have these plants replaced.

Will cleaning my roof damage my shingles or tiles? View Answer Hide Answer

Our cleaning and sanitizing process was designed in compliance with manufacturer guidelines to ensure that damage to your shingles and tiles does not occur. Our cleaning solution is applied with a low-pressure spray and thoroughly rinsed using pressure no stronger than a garden hose. It is best to avoid high pressure when cleaning and sanitizing roofs to prevent damage to tiles and shingles.

Are the chemicals safe around pets and children? View Answer Hide Answer

The cleaning and sanitizing solution we use contains a low concentration of bleach - similar to that of household bleach. This cleaning and sanitizing solution may be a mild or moderate irritant to some but shouldn’t pose a health hazard. As is the case with many household cleaners, children and pets should be kept away when the actual cleaning is taking place.

What is on my roof? View Answer Hide Answer

Various algae, molds, and mildews accumulate on roofs due to the warm, humid Florida weather. The black streaks are algae called Gloeocapsa Magma. These pores are always in the air and will attach to your roof surface. Once there, they will continue to grow and spread until killed off during proper roof cleaning and sanitization.

Are you licensed, bonded and insured? View Answer Hide Answer

Yes. We have full liability and workers comp insurance (not an exemption). We can provide you with copies of our insurance certifications at any time. This is an easy request to satisfy for companies that have insurance. If a contractor you are doing business with has a problem with providing certifications, this should be a red flag.

Why do you send someone out to provide the quote? View Answer Hide Answer

Quoting a roof or exterior cleaning one the phone may be an easy thing for some companies to do. Still, it does not allow for an accurate assessment of the cleaning and sanitization that is needed, nor does it identify potential problems. It is best for you and for us to put our eyes on the job, allowing our crew to be fully prepared for when they arrive to do the cleaning and sanitization—no surprises for anyone.

Can the cleaning solution that you use harm my plants? View Answer Hide Answer

To entirely kill off the mold and algae growing on your roof, a strong cleaning and sanitizing solution is needed. Plants can sometimes become temporarily stressed as a result of the cleaning and sanitization. As a precaution, one team member will water extensively before, during, and after the cleaning. We will also tarp susceptible plants that are in the drip line of any un-guttered section.
